I’m retiring from Tech

After a wild career spanning 3 decades, I am retiring from the world of Tech to focus full-time on my creative pursuits.

I spent the last 30 years at the intersection of Tech and Media, and I've got a lot to reflect on and be thankful for. I’ve been fortunate to work at some amazing companies where I’ve had a front row seat / direct hand in the development of technology that has profoundly improved Music (Spotify), Sports (Fubo), News (Axios), and Entertainment (Viacom, Comcast, MoviePass). It’s crazy to consider how drastically Tech has impacted Content during my career, in every conceivable way: the formats, the production process, the distribution, the business models, the consumer experience… everything. I can hardly imagine what the next 5 years will bring with AI.

But retirement from my corporate career doesn’t mean I’m taking a permanent vacation in Belize. I still have a lot to give, and I'll be focusing that energy "on the other side": content creation. Specifically, that means photography, filmmaking, and music — ideally all packaged together.

And that brings us to this website, where I will be showcasing my photography, music, and video. Until then, I created a short retirement announcement video below.

Cheers,
Mike
